Are you curious about what policy is; why it is important in your practice as a physical education stakeholder; and how you can develop your own and others’ interest, understanding, and engagement with policy?
If so, please join us for an interactive AIESEP 2024 Pre-Congress event about engaging with policy in physical education.
The event will be held from 9am-5pm on Monday the 13th of May at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, prior to the AIESEP Congress from the 14th-17th of May.
While a complete list of event activities and facilitators will be announced shortly, you can expect interactive, evidence based sessions from interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners (i.e., from education policy, public policy, and physical education policy) that consider:
- What is policy and why is it important?
- What do we currently ‘know’ and ‘do’ in relation to policy in physical education?
- How can physical education professionals develop their policy preparedness?
- How can policy preparedness be embedded in physical education teacher education?
There will also be the opportunity to join new research collaborations related to physical education policy and/or other physical education policy-focused professional learning initiatives.
All are very welcome to this event, whether you are new to policy or very experienced, we look forward to and appreciate everyone’s involvement and contributions.
Registration details will be announced shortly, however, to indicate your initial interest or for more information or questions please contact jenna.lorusso@ul.ie
