Offer exclusively for UL PE & SES Students & Graduates – Complete the NCEF Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF) in two, intensive weeks at the end of May 2024, to qualify as a Fitness Instructor/Gym Instructor. Students can attain this qualification, whilst on their undergraduate degree programme, adding to their portfolio of skills, advancing their education, and most importantly, boosting their employability.

In today’s competitive landscape, it’s more important than ever that graduates have a strong portfolio of skills and something ‘more’ to get noticed by prospective employers. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get ahead now and differentiate yourself in the workplace.

The course will run over two weeks, starting 20th May 2024, full days Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm, with final summative assessments at the end of the second week. The course fee is €1,195, payable to the NCEF. Payments can be split over the coming months to make the investment more manageable.

Following successful completion, students will graduate with an NFQ Level 6 Fitness Instructor qualification from the University of Limerick the following January. This qualification is Industry accredited by EuropeActive, EREPS and REPs Ireland as a Level 4 European Standards Personal Trainer.

Modules covered include Exercise to Music, Resistance Training, Circuit Training, Body Conditioning, Advanced Cueing Skills Through Step Training and more.

Options are there to progress on the NCEF flexible learning pathway in the future by ‘stepping into’ Year 2 of the Higher Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness to complete specialist modules such as Advanced Personal Training, Strength & Conditioning for Athletes & Teams, Pilates & Corrective Exercise, Fit for Life Wellness Coaching, Children’s Fitness, Active Ageing for Older Adults and Business Facility Operations. These specialist modules may also be taken on a ‘Link In’ occasional basis in the Autumn, Spring and Summer semesters and some are entirely e-learning on the UL virtual learning environment Bright Space, whereby you can study remotely from anywhere in the world, at a time and place that works for you whilst also working full-time in your field.

An academic affiliate of UL, NCEF offer University accredited Exercise, Health, and Fitness Instructor qualifications in Ireland.

Course options are available, on the NCEF flexible learning pathway, from Level 6 Certificate to Level 8 BSc in Exercise & Health Fitness and at Levels 5 & 6 on the European Framework (EQF). NCEF qualifications are also audited and aligned to the EuropeActive Standards 3, 4, 5 and 6 Advanced Exercise for Health Specialist.
