Research Impact: Despite notable advancements in gender equality within professional sports, significant challenges persist. An analysis of the Spanish legal framework, including male and female sports collective agreements and the new Sports Law of December 30, 2022, reveals progress but also glaring disparities. Regulatory instruments often differ based on gender, a unique and concerning aspect exclusive to sports. Furthermore, some sports lack a female collective agreement tailored to their specificities, indicating insufficiencies in addressing all-gender needs. While strides have been made, achieving true equality in professional sports remains an ongoing and complex issue.
