Research Impact: This study explores whether relational love could serve as a foundation for academic internationalisation. Using a collaborative self-study methodology, data collected since March 2022—including emails, journals, field notes, virtual meetings, and autobiographical notes—were analysed through narrative and reflexive thematic analysis. Three main themes emerged: “Community of life, community of care,” “Learning: moving mind, body, spirit, and heart,” and “Generating meaningful knowledge(s).” The findings suggest that relational love, when viewed through the lenses of social justice, decolonisation of knowledge, and institutional democracy, could offer a transformative approach to academic practices, particularly in physical education.
