On Friday June 6th all roads lead to University College Cork for the annual PEPAYS Ireland Forum. The goal of the PEPAYS Ireland Research Centre is to develop a critical mass of researchers actively contributing to multi-disciplinary and multi-entity research that impacts policy and practice related to health and well-being of populations in the areas of physical education, sport, physical activity and health, and the Forum represents one of the Centre’s key events to achieve this goal. This year is the 20th anniversary of the founding of the PEPAYS Ireland Research Centre and our colleagues in UCC have a wonderful programme planned with symposia, panel discussions, along with poster and oral presentations highlighting the latest research across the domains for physical education, physical activity and youth sport. The event will take place in the Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, UCC and registration is open, click here for more details. Fantastic admission rates of €10 for undergraduate students, €30 for postgraduate students and €50 general admission are available, places are still available, however, early registration is advised. Doors open from 9:15am with the opening address taking place at 9:40am. The theme of this year’s Forum is ‘Navigating the everchanging landscape of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Youth Sport’. The Forum represents a great platform to collaborate and learn from colleagues across the three interrelated domains of physical education, physical activity and youth sport, ultimately, connecting researchers and policy makers to translate their findings into actionable policies and practices. If you have any questions on the Forum, check out the event registration page (available here) or reach out to UCC organising committee at sportsstudiesandphysicaleducation@ucc.ie. Wishing all those travelling to the event a safe journey and an enjoyable day! Le meas, Brendan O’Keeffe (Co-Director, PEPAYS Ireland)
