Associate Professor Sean Healy Named Fellow of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity

Associate Professor Sean Healy has been named a Fellow of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA). This prestigious honour was conferred at the 2025 International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity, held earlier this month.

Fellow status is the highest recognition bestowed by IFAPA and is reserved for individuals who have made sustained and outstanding contributions to the field of adapted physical activity. As outlined by IFAPA, the award acknowledges excellence in scholarly work, professional service, and leadership within the discipline.

Dr. Healy’s recognition reflects more than a decade of scholarship focused on promoting inclusive physical activity. His work is particularly well known in the area of autism and physical activity, where he is among the most published researchers internationally.
