Coaching Conversations at UL returns

The Department of Physical Education & Sport Sciences at the University of Limerick, in association with Limerick Sports Partnership, is pleased to host another Coaching Conversation.

Join us March 3rd at 7pm for a Q&A session with graduates of the MSc in Applied Sports Coaching as they discuss their coaching practice and journeys in track and field athletics, gymnastics, Special Olympics, Gaelic Games and triathlon.

What is Women in Sport Week?

“First held in March 2021 and repeated every March since, WIS Week is a significant and successful week of celebration, promotion, and visibility of women’s sport and women in sport.” (Sport Ireland). WIS Week is a core initiative to raise visibility as part of Sport Ireland’s Policy on Women in Sport.

Who should attend?

The focus of the evening is on quality coaching and quality coach development. As such, coaches from all sports are encouraged to attend.

Where is the talk on?

The talk will be hosted in the PESS Building at the University of Limerick. Tickets are free, but need to be reserved. You can reserve your place here.

Dr. Phil Kearney is the Course Leader for the MSc Applied Sports Coaching at the University of Limerick. A Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, his teaching and research centres on the domain of skill acquisition, particularly as it relates to youth sport. A regular contributor to RTÉ Brainstorm, Phil is a member of the Gaelic Athletic Association’s Player & Coach Development Advisory Group, an Associate Editor for Perceptual and Motor Skills and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Motor Learning and Development. Phil is a co-founder of Movement and Skill Acquisition Ireland
