This study looked at what young rugby players know about nutrition and hydration, and how well they put that knowledge into practice. The players completed questionnaires about sports nutrition and hydration, provided urine samples before training to check hydration levels, and recorded what they ate over three days. Results showed that nutrition knowledge and eating habits were below recommended levels for young athletes. Hydration knowledge was better, but many players still arrived to training dehydrated. There was no link between what players knew and what they did. The study highlights the need for better nutrition education and support in this population
