O’Connor Cup Brought Home to UL Again !

In a well fought match, the UL Ladies Football defeated UCC 2-5 to 0-8 in the final of the O’Connor Cup on Sunday 11^th March. Under the management of D.J. Collins (Senior Technician, PESS Department), and captained by Anna Galvin (4^th year Sport and Exercise Sciences) the UL team’s commitment and hard work paid off in dividends, beating DCU in the semi final the day before the final McHale Park in Mayo.

PESS students on UL O’Connor Cup squad included Anna Galvin, Captain (4^th year Sport and Exercise Sciences), Ayesha Roche (4^th year P.E.), Mara Curley (3^rd Year Sport and Exercise Sciences), Emma Buckley (3^rd Year Sport and Exercise Sciences), Sarah Everard (3^rd Year P.E.), Shauna Molly (1^st Year P.E.), Rebecca O’Malley (1^st Year Sport and Exercise Sciences), Ellee McEvoy (1^st Year P.E.), and Eimear Scally (1^st Year NCEF).

PESS staff and students involved in the coaching of the team included Dr. Mark Lyons (Strength and Conditioning), Colm Canning (4^th Year Sport and Exercise Sciences and Coach), Patricia Lynch (MSc. Sports Performance Graduate and Video Analyst) and Dr. D.J. Collins (Senior Technician and Manager).
