MedEx UL and the Centre for Physical Activity and Health in the University of Limerick invite you to a workshop on Exercise is Medicine (EIM). EIM is a programme of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Medical Association (AMA) (exerciseismedicine.org). It is a global initiative that ‘encourages primary care physicians and other health care providers to include physical activity in disease prevention and when designing treatment plans for medical conditions’. Prof. Robert E. Sallis will be facilitating the workshop.
Professor Robert E. Sallis is a family physician practicing at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, California, and Co-Director of their Sports Medicine Fellowship programme. He is Past-President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Chair of EIM, and Chair of the Healthcare Sector of the U.S. Physical Activity Plan. He is also physician and spokesperson for the “Every Body Walk!” campaign.
