Research Impact: This is the first comprehensive study exploring dry-land resistance training (RT) practices of elite swimming strength and conditioning (S&C) coaches. Twenty-three elite swimming S&C coaches from Ireland, Great Britain, Australia and the United States of America were recruited. A total of 95 dry-land RT exercises were used by the coaches across 4 different dry-land RT practices. Traditional RT (87 %) was the most commonly practised. The pull up and squat were the most popular dry-land RT exercises used by elite swimming S&C coaches. Future research needs explore the specificity and transfer of RT exercises to swimming performance.
