Research Impact: This study assessed physical activity context and type preferences in Emirati university students. University students typically report low levels of physical activity and the UAE has high levels of inactivity related disease. It is likely that physical activity programs will be better received if they match the preference of the intended population. This study assessed preference for type (e.g. walking, swimming etc.) and context (e.g. alone, with people of same gender, for fun etc.) and identified differences by gender. The results of this study may be used to guide the planning of physical activity interventions in this population.
