The Annual Jacinta O’Brien Memorial Fundraiser event – 999forthefrontline & The Ireland Centennial Challenge: Stephen O’Kane, Caitlin Heffernan

What is the Jacinta O’ Brien annual memorial event?

The 2021 Jacinta O’Brien annual memorial challenges are to celebrate and commemorate one of University of Limericks most cherished and loved members of staff in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. Jacinta passed away in 2004 and so to mark the 17th anniversary of her passing our challenges aim to inspire, just like Jacinta has influenced and inspired so many young men and women with her passion for physical activity and sport. It is our hope that we can capture her enthusiasm within these challenges in both a sporting and communal context.

2021 Challenges:

Both events taking place are in aid of The Irish Cancer Society, Limerick Suicide Watch and The Mater Foundation. Our main goal of these challenges is to raise as much funds as possible for these amazing charities. Our hopes are to challenge students and the public to get up and active as they complete our physical challenges. All challenges are to be completed virtually and within current COVID guidelines.
