Research Impact: This is the second book from Paul Kilgannon that focuses specifically on coaching in an Irish context – “an Irish book, by Irish coaches, for young Irish sports people”. The book contains input from over 50 respected coaches and sport stars, coaching academics and sports science professionals, to produce a comprehensive guide for the young sportsperson. I was delighted to be asked to contribute a chapter which discusses the communication between athlete and coach and offers tips to young athletes in how to effectively interact with their coach in a variety of situations. The book featured in the Irish Times Top 50 Sports books for 2020 and has sold over 2,500 copies to date.
