Publication: Relationship between perceived competency-based learning and measured learning in TIMSS 2015

Research Impact: The results of this study confirmed the high relationship between perceived competency-based learning and learning measured with the TIMSS 2015 in students from Spain and Germany. Likewise, with all the caution required by such a complex topic and without meaning to simplify it, the increase or decrease of students’ measured learning could be influenced, among other variables, by the high or low perceived values of competency-based learning. Hence, we advocate for promoting the development of pedagogies and teaching strategies that favor students’ competency-based education, especially in the primary education years.
