Publication: Exploring the mechanisms of target acquisition performance in esports: The role of component kinematic phases on a first person shooter motor skill

Research Impact Summary:  In this study, we quantified the kinematic phases of targeting movements among gamers and found high skill FPS players show superior motor planning and sensorimotor integration as well as that training augmented all phases of target acquisition movements. Finally, tDCS was shown to improve performance on targets requiring sensorimotor adjustments
